A new home in Adelaide's south

Previously Mototech Motorcycle Repairs in Sydney — now Southside Motorcycles in Seaford, South Australia. Same experience, same family-run service, new home.

We're moving south. Mototech Motorcycle Repairs in Sydney is becoming Southside Motorcycles in Seaford. Our Sydney workshop is closing as Ben and Rachel relocate the family business to Adelaide's south. You'll still find the same experience, personal service and old-school approach — just under a new name and in a new home.

New Seaford workshop opening: early to mid October 2026.

About us

A Local Workshop Run by Riders

Southside Motorcycles is a small, independent family business run by husband-and-wife team Ben and Rachel.

We are riders ourselves, so we understand that your motorcycle is more than simply another vehicle coming through the workshop. Whether you rely on your bike every day, ride on weekends, head off-road, tour long distances or simply enjoy owning something special, we want you to feel confident about the person working on it.

Ben is a fully qualified and licensed motorcycle repairer with 25 years of experience, working across everything from routine servicing and fault finding to complete engine rebuilds, electrical diagnostics, custom builds and performance upgrades.

Being a small workshop means we can offer something that is becoming increasingly difficult to find: personal service.

You can talk to us, explain what the bike is doing, understand what we find and get straightforward advice about what actually needs to be done.

We believe in doing the job properly, treating customers fairly and building long-term relationships with riders.

Experienced workmanship. Straight answers. Old-school service.

Motorcycling is for everyone. We're a husband-and-wife team, riders ourselves, and we want everyone who walks into the workshop to feel comfortable asking questions and talking to us about their bike — whether you've been riding for 30 years or bought your first motorcycle last week.

What we do

Motorcycle Servicing, Repairs & Diagnostics

From everyday maintenance through to complex mechanical and electrical problems, Southside Motorcycles provides a comprehensive motorcycle workshop service. If you are not sure which service you need, give us a call and tell us what the bike is doing.

Servicing & Repairs

Keep the bike properly maintained, catch problems early, and sort everyday wear before it becomes an expensive repair.

Diagnostics & Electrical

Hands-on mechanical experience with modern diagnostic capability — especially useful when the bike isn't telling a simple story.

Engines & Carburettors

Major engine work when routine repairs are no longer enough — and the carburettor knowledge that is getting harder to find.

Suspension, Tyres & Wheels

Handling, comfort and safety work — from fork seals and steering bearings through to tyre fitting and wheel repairs.

A proper local workshop. Your bike looked after by people who ride, understand motorcycles, and care about doing the job properly.

Specialist capability

More than routine servicing

Some jobs sit outside a standard service. These are the ones riders often don't know who to call about.

Rusty Motorcycle Fuel Tank?

We can clean, line and seal rusted motorcycle fuel tanks — particularly useful for older bikes, restorations and anything that has spent a long time in storage.

Buying a Used Bike?

A motorcycle can look great and still hide expensive problems. A pre-purchase inspection helps you understand the condition before you commit. Buying a bike? Call us before you buy.

Accident & Insurance Repairs

If the bike has been damaged, we can assess it and carry out appropriate mechanical and insurance-related repair work. Talk to us about the motorcycle, the damage and insurer requirements.

Welding & Light Fabrication

Small repair fabrication, bracket repairs, mounting solutions and motorcycle-related welding. More involved fabrication can be discussed directly with the workshop.

Can't Get the Bike to Us?

Motorcycle tow and pick-up for bikes that aren't rideable — breakdowns, accident damage, long-term stored bikes and major repairs. Call us to discuss pick-up availability.

Generator Repairs

Repairs to suitable petrol generators, including starting problems, fuel system work, carburettor cleaning and general servicing. Contact us with the make, model and fault first.

Custom & performance

Custom Builds, Modifications & Harley Upgrades

Motorcycles are personal. For riders who want something beyond standard servicing and repairs, we can help improve, modify or personalise the bike while keeping reliability, safety and real-world usability in mind.

  • Custom motorcycle builds
  • Mechanical modifications
  • Performance upgrades
  • Accessory installations
  • Electrical modifications
  • Suspension changes
  • Light fabrication and welding repairs
  • Harley-Davidson upgrades

Bought something for the bike and want it installed properly? We can fit a wide range of accessories, lighting, cameras, touring gear and electrical equipment.

What we work on

From Scooters to Adventure Bikes

Different bikes require different knowledge. Whether you ride something modern and electronically controlled, an older carburetted motorcycle, a Harley cruiser, a dirt bike or a daily commuter scooter, we have the experience to diagnose the problem and work out the right solution.

  • Road bikes
  • Sports bikes
  • Cruisers
  • Harley-Davidson
  • Adventure bikes
  • Dirt bikes
  • Scooters
  • Quad bikes

The difference

Why Riders Choose Southside Motorcycles

25 Years of Experience

Ben has spent 25 years working on motorcycles and brings that experience to every diagnosis, service and repair.

Fully Qualified & Licensed

Your motorcycle is being worked on by a fully qualified and licensed motorcycle repairer.

Husband & Wife Team

Southside Motorcycles is genuinely family-run. Ben and Rachel work together in the business, giving customers a personal point of contact rather than the anonymous experience of a large dealership.

Riders Ourselves

We ride too. We understand why riders care about how their motorcycle feels, how it performs and whether they can trust it.

Straightforward Advice

If we find a problem, we will explain it and talk through what needs to happen. Customers should understand what is happening with their motorcycle.

Old-School Service

Answer the phone. Talk to people properly. Do what you say you're going to do. Take pride in the work. That philosophy is a major part of Southside Motorcycles.

From tyres and routine servicing through to electrical diagnostics, carburettors, complete engine rebuilds, fabrication and custom work, customers can bring a wide range of motorcycle problems to one workshop.

Reputation

Built on Word of Mouth

Trusted by riders across Adelaide and the southern suburbs

A small independent workshop lives and dies by its reputation. Ben and Rachel built theirs the slow way — knowledgeable repairs, straightforward advice and personal service — first as Mototech Motorcycle Repairs in Sydney, and now as Southside Motorcycles in Seaford.

  • Quality workmanship
  • Knowledge
  • Friendliness
  • Clear explanations
  • Fair treatment
  • Difficult fault diagnosis
  • Repeat customers
