About us
A Local Workshop Run by Riders
Southside Motorcycles is a small, independent family business run by husband-and-wife team Ben and Rachel.
We are riders ourselves, so we understand that your motorcycle is more than simply another vehicle coming through the workshop. Whether you rely on your bike every day, ride on weekends, head off-road, tour long distances or simply enjoy owning something special, we want you to feel confident about the person working on it.
Ben is a fully qualified and licensed motorcycle repairer with 25 years of experience, working across everything from routine servicing and fault finding to complete engine rebuilds, electrical diagnostics, custom builds and performance upgrades.
Being a small workshop means we can offer something that is becoming increasingly difficult to find: personal service.
You can talk to us, explain what the bike is doing, understand what we find and get straightforward advice about what actually needs to be done.
We believe in doing the job properly, treating customers fairly and building long-term relationships with riders.
Experienced workmanship. Straight answers. Old-school service.
Motorcycling is for everyone. We're a husband-and-wife team, riders ourselves, and we want everyone who walks into the workshop to feel comfortable asking questions and talking to us about their bike — whether you've been riding for 30 years or bought your first motorcycle last week.

Specialist capability
More than routine servicing
Some jobs sit outside a standard service. These are the ones riders often don't know who to call about.
Rusty Motorcycle Fuel Tank?
We can clean, line and seal rusted motorcycle fuel tanks — particularly useful for older bikes, restorations and anything that has spent a long time in storage.
Buying a Used Bike?
A motorcycle can look great and still hide expensive problems. A pre-purchase inspection helps you understand the condition before you commit. Buying a bike? Call us before you buy.
Accident & Insurance Repairs
If the bike has been damaged, we can assess it and carry out appropriate mechanical and insurance-related repair work. Talk to us about the motorcycle, the damage and insurer requirements.
Welding & Light Fabrication
Small repair fabrication, bracket repairs, mounting solutions and motorcycle-related welding. More involved fabrication can be discussed directly with the workshop.
Can't Get the Bike to Us?
Motorcycle tow and pick-up for bikes that aren't rideable — breakdowns, accident damage, long-term stored bikes and major repairs. Call us to discuss pick-up availability.
Generator Repairs
Repairs to suitable petrol generators, including starting problems, fuel system work, carburettor cleaning and general servicing. Contact us with the make, model and fault first.

Motorcycles are personal. For riders who want something beyond standard servicing and repairs, we can help improve, modify or personalise the bike while keeping reliability, safety and real-world usability in mind.
